Developing my own critical thinking and creative skills has helped me grow in my field of teaching. I have over 20 years' experience in a variety of roles in education in the US, UK and Europe. The places that I have lived and taught has greatly influenced my diversity in the field of education. This teaching evolution now includes a portfolio of teaching all ages and levels, but I am very proud to add extensive syllabus & course design, teacher training, consultation and translation/proofreading services to my list of experience. I now serve as an educational leader and consultant for academic language programs in both the Czech Republic and the UK.  My passion for teaching inspires me to continue learning new trends in education such as digital learning, online digital curriculum design and innovative teaching. Sharing my teaching portfolio with new learners is a motivational force and I look forward to bringing you educational disruption- the concept of bringing creative thinking and self-discovery to the forefront of your learning.

My teaching career began in New York City teaching English, EFL, and Creative Writing to teens and adults for almost a decade. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education, as well as, a Master’s degree in English from CUNY New York.  I also did some PhD studies in Comparative Literature at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, focusing on the writings of women. Some organizations that I have collaborated with on projects include Target English International, Brno English Centre, VSKE, and Labyrinth School in Brno, as well as, numbers of non-profit groups, small-businesses and women looking to follow their dreams. Joanne McDonnell

I believe a solid Learning and Development program is essential to the success of any medium to large business in order to compete in both today's and future markets. Throughout my career I have focused on establishing engaging training strategies and employee support management initiatives using blended learning strategies. As a leader in education management in both the US and the UK, I have designed, delivered, and assessed quality learning and development programs and workshops for both the public and private sectors.

I currently focus on advancing the training and professional development programs of organizations, implementing and following through to completion, various training initiatives. I tailor instructional plans and curricula to meet the needs of each organization and department. This includes in-person facilitation, follow-up assessments, train-the-trainer coaching, and instructional materials.
